At the end of this year we shall be saying goodbye to Mrs Stebbing, who has taught in Y3 for much of the year. I am sure that you will join us in thanking her for all of her hard work during this past year and wish her well for the future.

We shall also be losing Mrs Rajannah, who has supported in our Early Years during the year, again we thank her for everything that she has done.

We also say goodbye and congratulations to Mr Holland, who has been a student teacher with Y2 for much of the year. He really has been exceptional, and we know that he has a fantastic future ahead of him. Mr Holland will be taking up his first teaching role at Carterknowle Juniors in September. We are sure you will join us in wishing him every success.

It really was wonderful to meet and welcome so many of our new parents at last week's Introduction to Reception meeting. We look forward to meeting our new children at their "Stay and Play," sessions later this term.

Service

Today in our whole school assembly we considered the virtue of service.

T'Nyren, William, Ethan, Lucie, Charlotte and Gracie Rose from  Y1 helped with today's assembly and were  absolute superstars.

We discussed how Jesus was a very special person and still is. We also considered the role that Jesus thought He Had.

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served ; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people."

We thought about Jesus being a servant and what He calls all of us to do.

How can we serve others as Jesus did ?

Festival of Arts

On Thursday the 21st of July, we shall be having our "Festival of arts day." This will be a fantastic opportunity, to showcase all the fabulous work that has been going on in school this term.

Visits shall be staggered throughout the day and slots may be booked on the School Gateway.

It will be lovely to see you there.

v

If your child uses their bike or scooter to travel to and from school, please make sure that they do not use them whilst in the playground.

We have received a number of complaints to say that there have been a few near misses this week, where little ones have almost been cycled/scooted into.

Please keep your childs cycle/scooter with you when in the playground.

Thank you as always for your cooperation in this matter.

Uniform Reminder

When the children started back in school in September, they looked incredibly smart in their new uniforms.

It has been noted that standards are slipping. Please note uniform is as follows:

Green V Necked Knitted Cardigan/Jumper with School Badge
White Cotton Shirt with collar suitable for a tie
School Tie
Tailored Grey Trousers/Shorts
Grey Pinafore/Grey Skirt - Knee Length
Green Gingham Dress - Knee Length
Socks/Tights - Grey or White
Black Sensible Shoes (No Trainers No Boots No Sandals)

All of the above information is available on the school website.

If you have any issues or problems in terms of uniform, then please contact the school office.

If children do attend school in incorrect uniform, then a letter will be sent home from school. If there is a reason that your child is not in uniform, then please let the school office know.

Final Mass of the School Year

On the last day of this term - Friday the 22nd of July, we shall be having a whole school Mass in church at 2pm.

This will be a perfect way to end the school year and also give us the opportunity to say a special goodbye to our wonderful Y6 class.
