It really has been an exciting end to a very busy half-term.

As a school, we have made sure that we journey together during this special season of Advent.

Our wonderful staff, have made sure that the children have all enjoyed the experience of Advent assemblies, nativities and performances, and I am sure that they will enjoy sharing these at home with you, when you watch them online. I have to say they are all wonderful, and we are extremely proud of all the children.

Last week, the children all had their parties, we have had elf days, Christmas  jumper day, visits from Father Christmas and our very own personalised panto....all in all a very busy and exciting time !

I think that all the children and definitely all the staff, are now ready for a very well-earned break.

On behalf of everyone at St Josephs, I would like to wish all of our families a very happy, holy and safe Christmas.

We look forward to seeing all the children back in school on Monday the 10th of January 2022.

Best wishes and God Bless,

Mrs McFarlane

COVID-19 Update

Thank you for your continued support and understanding this term. . Obviously there is much uncertainty as to what shall happen in the new year. We are currently receiving updates from the DFE and Public Health, who have assured me that they shall be in contact during the holidays with advice for January.

As soon as I have this advice, I shall of course be in touch with plans for the new term.

Behaviour Policy

As you know as a school we have been working on our approach to behaviour management this term. A new policy has been developed in collaboration with staff, parents and governors which is very much rooted in the Trauma Informed Approach, to behaviour management. We are also mindful, that one form does not suit all children as they develop at different rates, socially and emotionally. This is therefore a flexible approach which shall be used to meet the needs of all children. At St Josephs, we have so many children who are always incredibly well-behaved. This new policy also recognises this fact and makes sure that they feel valued and appreciated .

The new policy, can be found on the school website, by following this link.

A very special visitor...

Last week we had a very special visitor in school.... Father Christmas, who came in especially to visit the children in FS and KS1.

As our children have been amazing this year, they all got a special treat.

Thank you so much Father Christmas...and we hope to see you again next year !

Thank you to all the wonderful Friends of St Joseph's for everything that they do for our school. This term they have made sure that every child received a special treat and have also funded the fantastic pantomime !

Thank you to all of you who donated towards our Elf Day . We raised £107.50 , which shall all go to the very worthwhile charity, the Children's Hospital.

Thank you so much to all of you who have purchased books from our Amazon wish lists. The children really will enjoy them - we are so grateful.

We shall keep updating our wish lists throughout the year. We really would appreciate any donations that you are able to make.

Last week a tray of the children's milk was taken from outside the school door.

This was upsetting on two counts. Firstly, that someone would see fit to take the children's milk and secondly that someone may really need to take this as they had no other option.

If anyone has an idea of who did take this, please let school know, as they may need our support especially at this challenging time.
