Friday 17th of September

This week has been another busy one. The week started wonderfully with our Y3 children dressed as Roald   Dahl characters, they looked absolutely amazing. I am sure they told you all about the exciting things they did during their Roald Dahl day.

Next week our fantastic Y6 class, shall be heading off on residential to Thornbridge — the first residential for two years. I am sure that they will have a brilliant time and shall make lots of happy memories.

It does seem as though things are getting back to some kind of normality. We will as always continue to take a cautious approach and follow the guidelines set by the LA and DFE closely.

For this half-term parent meetings and a harvest performance, shall all be done virtually. At this stage it is too early to say wether or not this approach shall change in the next half-term — we shall seek further advice closer to the time and shall of course let you know as soon as we do.

Y4 Mass

Today it was really lovely to take our Y4 children to Mass for the first time this year. This was really special as many of the children in Y4, shall be making their First Holy Communion next month.

We pray for the children and their families as they continue to prepare for this special sacrament.

This week's star children are.......

Nursery : Archie, for making new friends and settling so well.

Reception: Kamsi, for super listening during story time and joining in with our new words to retell the story. Well done Kamsi.

Year 1 : Jack, for amazing focus and attention in all lessons — especially in maths.

Year 2 : Lula — she has shown kindness and patience when working alongside others.

Year 3 : Florence for consistently good behaviour and having a great attitude towards her work. She is a pleasure to have in class.

Year 4: Esmee — for always being kind, positive and enthusiastic — a real role model.

Year 5: Aidan — he constantly works hard in all subjects and is so polite, contributing to class discussions and working well in groups.

Year 6: Ellie and Evie who wrote a wonderful piece of writing bringing characterisation into speech to the move the story on.

This week's Language Legend is, Lula from Y2 for great listening and written work in Spanish.

Early Bird Club

Our early morning provision shall be starting on Monday the 27th of September - booking details to follow shortly.

As you may be aware parking services were present this week — they have assured us that they shall be visiting again soon, to ensure that everyone is parking safely outside of school.

Today we all watched the Cafod Go Green Assembly, in preparation for our Harvest celebrations.

https://cafod.org.uk/Education/Primary-teaching-resources/Primary-school-assemblies/Go-Green-primary-assembly

World leaders are meeting in Glasgow this November for a crucial meeting about the climate crisis and the future of our planet and its people. Our Go Green assembly encourages Catholic schools around England and Wales to unite together and fundraise to support communities around the world who are protecting the planet.

Go Green fundraising will support people like Luana who lives in the Brazilian Amazon. When fires destroyed the crops and trees that Luana’s community rely on to survive, CAFOD’s local experts helped them to replant using sustainable methods so that they would have food to eat and to sell.

We shall be having our special Go Green fundraising day, in school on the 21st of October - more information to follow soon.

Dear God

Thank you for the beauty of the world.

Thank you for the seasons of the year and the variety that they bring.

Please help us to see beauty and excitement in every season.
