Friday 7th of May

Next Week

During the month of May we dedicate our prayers to Mary. As we are not able to have a May procession this year we have registered with Aid to the Church in Need Maisy Milk Rosary for Peace initiative and pledged that we would say one decade of the rosary each day from Monday 10th May. This means that we will pray 10 000 Hail Mary's asking for Our Lady’s intercession and protection for peace in our world.
On Friday 14th May we will end the week with a special day dedicated to Mary. We would like the children to wear a blue top/t-shirt or jumper and also bring in a few flowers to present to Mary. Hopefully the weather will be fine, and we shall then be able to make a special altar to Our Lady in the school grounds. During the day the children will create flowers, prayers and cards that they shall then present to Our Lady. Our Liturgy Leaders will lead an assembly to honour Mary in this special month.

Dropping off children in the morning

Please can we remind you, that if you are late when dropping of your child/children in the morning — that you ring the office bell and wait by the appropriate gate, for a member of staff to arrive and take your child into school.

Please also make sure that you supervise your children when waiting for them to come into school. Due to our staggered starts and really tight timescales, it means that there are no additional staff to look out for the children. Recently there have been incidents outside the Y4 classroom, which have occurred when children have been unsupervised.

As always thank you for your continued support.

Once again, lots of amazing things have been happening in school this week ...

Well done to all of our superstars !

Nursery : Delilah for trying hard to be a super kind friend, and for her beautiful pictures.

Reception : Our superstar is Charlotte for writing her own very hungry caterpillar story all by herself.

Year 1: Robert,  has worked incredibly hard with his reading and phonics at home and at school!

Year 2: Tommy.  Tommy has shown a really mature attitude with his learning this week, ensuring that he has remained focussed when completing his tasks.

Year 4: Aidan - For working exceptionally hard in all lessons and being a fantastic role model to his peers.

Year 5 : Riya. She always tries her best and has such a positive attitude towards learning!

Year 6: Maddie , for having a brilliant week, putting lots of energy into her learning, especially her Secret Garden writing, and impressing Mrs Roe and  Miss Beasley !

On Thursday the 13th of May, the school shall be watching a Mass, livestreamed from St Marie's Cathedral, to celebrate the Ascension.

Should you wish to watch this,  either live or as a recording, then it can accessed  via the St Marie's Cathedral Website.
