Covid safety advice for parents

Greg Fell, Sheffield's Director of Public Health, has urged parents and their children to keep following Covid guidance.

Following the return to school, we have received reports of:

  • children having sleepovers and play dates at friends' houses
  • children with symptoms not getting tests and being sent to school
  • a lack of social distancing

This could cause an increase in cases and stop our roadmap out of lock down.

Staying safe outside school

School bubbles are only safe in school because of all the other protective measures in place like ventilation, extra cleaning, face coverings, etc. It is unlikely that the same level of protection is taken elsewhere, and therefore children should not mix with their school bubble outside of school.

Recommended reads from Miss Beasley

As you know reading is a  whole school focus at St Joseph's . We have invested heavily in many new books and in the Read Write Inc scheme of books and resources.

It is wonderful that we are now in a position to send home these books so that you can support your child with their reading. Unfortunately some of the books are being returned in a poor condition and some are not being returned at all.

Please can we ask that these books and resources are looked after and are returned to school when required. If you do loose/damage  a book or resources we shall be asking for a payment of £5.00 , to contribute towards  the cost of a replacement.

We are so lucky here at St Joseph's ...

Last week we knew that something suspicious was going on... we had heard strange noises and then Mr Exley saw foot prints, which looked very like giant bunny feet !

Well this week we found out what had happened...the Easter Bunny had been and delivered an Easter Egg, for every single boy and girl in school  ! Because the Easter Bunny is so sensible, he even thought to leave them in the school stock room for a week, so that they could be quarantined and ready for everyone to take home today.

Father God,

Thank you for the grace of Lent.

Please help us in our Lent adventure to pray more.

Help us to stop doing some things so that we are free to go out to others with acts of service.

Show us how best to prepare for Easter.

Amen

We really hope that all of our families have a happy, holy and restful Easter .

God Bless from all of  the staff at St Joseph's.
