When Does Lent Start This Year? Lenten Timeline for 2021

Back to School Maths Collection - Mr Barton Maths Blog

We are all really excited to see all of the children back in school on the 8th of March and hopefully moving to some sort of normality. We are mindful, that some of our children may have been effected by the lockdown and
being away from school and their friends for such a long time. We have actively sought to put measures into place, to ensure that our children feel safe and nurtured on their return to school. If you have any concerns at all then please do
not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s class teacher.

New Uniform - September 2021

If you have any queries regarding the new uniform, then please do not hesitate to contact school.

World Book Day | World Book Day is a registered charity. Our mission is to give every child and young person a book of their own.                          Share A Story For 10 Minutes Today logo - World Book Day

It is World book Day 2021 on Thursday 4th March. On this day we will be having a special book themed day with craft, art and fun activities related to books. One of the main ideas is to spend 10 minutes sharing a story on that day.
Here are some of the events we have planned.
1. School staff will be recording themselves reading stories and your child will be able to choose from a
delicious menu of reading!
2. During the day, your child will be invited to come to a class Google Meet, where they can dress up as their favourite book character, or bring props and clues so that everyone can try to guess who they are. If your child is attending school, they can dress up as their favourite book character for the day .
3. A virtual World Book Day assembly.
4. Craft, art, quizzes and fun book related activities. One of these requires a clean, empty jar and also craft/collage materials which you might want to get ready before the day.

Miss Beasley will also be recording a special World Book Day Assembly, that will be shared with you all .

When is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day occurs globally on the 8th March every year in honour of the amazing women who campaigned for women’s rights and continue to do so.

Why is International Women’s Day Celebrated?

It’s extremely important to celebrate International Women’s Day to honour and appreciate the different achievements that women have accomplished around the world, including successes in society, economy, politics and culture.

As well as this, it’s also a time when we can remember those who still go unheard and continue to be prevented from reaching their full potential as basic rights like health and education are still not recognised for some women around the world.

COVID - 19 Update

Liturgical Year: 2nd Sunday of Lent Cycle: B
Gospel: Mark 9: 2-10

This week’s Gospel is a beautiful one to read and reflect on during Lent. In it, we see Peter, James, and John experience something incredible, which deepens their understanding of who Jesus really is. Their lives are changed and they experience a new beginning!

This week in our prayers, children will consider how every moment is a new beginning. Every moment we have a choice about how to behave. Every moment we can make a choice to follow Jesus and become more like Him. And thankfully, we are offered endless opportunities to start again – to have a new beginning.
