Friday the 22nd of January 2021

I thought I would include this fantastic  photo of Jacob having fun in the snow ! The children who have been in school have been working really hard but still are managing to have fun - as you can see from the photo.

This week I popped into a couple of GOOGLE MEET sessions with KS2 children, it was wonderful to see our children all ready to start their "new school day." I hope to drop into a few more sessions over the next few days . I have been so impressed with all of our children they are amazing and such a credit to you all.

Part of the Puzzle aims to show that we are all part of the same jigsaw, each child completes their own piece of jigsaw (at home or at school) and either send a photo or bring their piece in when they return to make a school jigsaw display.

Please watch the film by clicking on the following link, for further information .

Candlemas : Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Tuesday 2nd February 2021.

There will be a special Mass streamed from St Marie’s Cathedral for our diocesan primary schools, starting at 9.15am. This is a great opportunity for all of our pupils to attend Mass (virtually) and participate in the celebration. Our thanks go to Fr Chris Posluszny for agreeing to celebrate Mass for us, and to Shalom Media for videoing the Mass. The Mass will be available at www.stmariecathedral.org , and will also be available as a recording on the same website in case schools find an alternative time more convenient, or to use as part of teaching of the Eucharist topic from Come and See.

Non - screen activities that you can all try while you are at home.

Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 – Be the Light in the Darkness

On Holocaust Memorial Day we share the memory of millions who were murdered in the Holocaust and subsequent genocides in order to challenge hatred and persecution in the world today. The theme this year is â€˜Be the Light in the Darkness’ where there will be readings and reflections from the Lord Mayor, Leader of the Council and other Community Organisations.

This year the vigil will take place virtually on Wednesday 27th January, 5:45pm – 7pm.  Please find the webcast link below;

This year’s vigil will also pay tribute to Sue Pearson MBE who arrived in Sheffield from Prague on the Kindertransport in 1939 at the age of 11. Sue dedicated her life to education and raising awareness of the Holocaust and the impact of discrimination. Sue sadly passed away in December 2020.
