Friday the 18th of December

What a term this has been ! I would like to thank you all for your support, co-operation and patience during what has been a very challenging term.

On behalf of everyone at St Josephs, I would like to wish all of our wonderful families a  very happy and holy Christmas .

Lets hope the new year will be a good one for all of us.

Stay safe and God Bless,

Mrs McFarlane

Thank you St Josephs Father Christmas

A huge thank you to Father Christmas, who has bought every child in school a bag of chocolate coins.

Virtual Chat with Santa's Reindeers !

We are so lucky here at St Josephs, today two special elves, Abbie and Chloe, joined our assembly.

They introduced us to lots of their animal friends, Timore the meerkat, a loveley racoon and a great grey owl, all the way from the North Pole !

Then we actually got to meet two of Santa's reindeers...we all promised to make sure that we leave them some tasty reindeer food on Christmas Eve !

FRIENDS of St Josephs

Thank you to all the FRIENDS of St Josephs. There has been much happening behind the scenes, to help us make sure that the children have a memorable Christmas in school.

Friends funded our very own bespoke Panto, which the whole school watched today. They have also sent each child a chocolate lollypop ...to name just a couple of things.

We really do appreciate all of your hard work - it makes such a difference to all of our children.

Y5 ADVENT ASSEMBLY

On Wednesday , the whole school watched a recording of the Y5 Advent Assembly. It was incredible ! The singing was beautiful as was the xylophone rendition of Joy to the World.

Y6 Advent Assembly

Thank you to Y6 for todays final Advent assembly  -it was truly beautiful. The liturgical dance, in particular really was loveley.

Both of these assemblies, will be available to view on the schools YOUTUBE page, found on the school website.

Thank you for all of your kind donations from our Elf Day  - we raised £250, for the Children's Hospital Charity.

£90 of this was donated by our very own and very talented Mrs Clarke - she has sold lots of these beautiful Christmas trees . Thank you so much Mrs Clarke.

'We've heard a letter has arrived in the Town Hall from someone rather special. It was addressed to all the boys and girls in Sheffield to remind them that, even though Christmas might be a bit different this year, magic is still all around. If you would like to share it with the children in your life, you can download it from https://bit.ly/festivesheffresources

Well done to the Angels for being this terms winning house. They will all get a treat after the Christmas holiday.

What will happen on Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd December?

Children will work at home on Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd of December. Staff have prepared  home learning with an Advent theme and  this will go home with the children today. Teachers will then contact you on Monday the 21st of December with a timetable of activities for these two days.

You will notice that on the home learning timetable being sent out on Monday morning, there is a slot for a video call from 9-9:30am on each day . This will be used as registration for the children, therefore we expect children to attend to be able to get a registration mark.

Please don't worry if you have children in other classes, registration is a half an hour slot for this reason. Children don't need to attend for the full 30 minutes, the children can pop in and out of the call anytime between 9 and 9:30am. They will then be able to complete the home learning timetable for the rest of the day.

There will also be two links shared for online performances . The first will be on Monday afternoon and shall be a whole school Christmas performance.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, there is a special treat from all of the staff at St Josephs ...all carried out in a COVID secure way.

We really do hope that you all enjoy these.

School staff will be available right up to Christmas Eve , and will be able to respond to those of you who communicate concerns about COVID-19.
