Friday the 20th of November

It is now five weeks to Christmas... normally at this stage, we would be trying to down play this a little in school, to a little closer to breaking up !

This year however is one like no other. All of us could do with a little excitement and enjoyment. This being the case, things will start to happen a little earlier this year.

We have put lots of things in the diary , please make a note of these, details will be coming out to you very soon.

We will be starting with marking the start of Advent on the 30th of November with the children coming into school in their own clothes.

We are asking for donations of £1, this will go to the excellent cause, Schools for Bethlehem Day. This charity are raising funds, to establish the  first every hospice in the holy city of Bethlehem, for terminally ill and elderly people.

COVID -19 Update

  • Please can I remind you that if anyone has symptoms. They must self-isolate, get a test and return home straight after the test. The household should self isolate and children and young people should not come into school. This follows an increasing number of pupils in Sheffield , who are coming into school when they are awaiting a test result themselves or have family members whom they live with awaiting test results. The attached graphic may be helpful.
  • Please can I also remind you that  the ‘class bubbles’ do not mean that children and young people can continue to meet up outside of school. Play dates and sleep overs with children from the same friendship groups or school classes should not be taking place. The bubbles in school are to support contact tracing and to minimise risk of virus transmission. Outside of school pupils should not be mixing. This follows the current national restrictions that are currently in place.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Due to the current situation, we need to be really careful with how we are dealing with Christmas cards this year.

Children can of course bring in cards for their friends, but we are asking them to pass these to their class teacher. The cards will then be quarantined and given out to all of them on Monday the 21st of December.

The last day that your child can bring their Christmas cards into school will be Friday the 18th of December. This will allow for a full weekend, before they are handed out to the children.

Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe.

As I'm sure you are aware, we have had a number of issues with our current provider - Dolce - which we have been unable to resolve.

We are now very happy to tell you that we have changed provider to Taylor Shaw who will be providing our meals from Monday 23rd November. Meals can be ordered online using Lunchhoud and paid for using the SchoolGateway

The new menu is simple for now, but we are working towards a new hot dinner menu as soon as possible.

Please set up your account as soon as possible.

Have you ever 'lost' time? It could have been fairies | IrishCentral.com

The fairies at the bottom of the garden.

Did you know that there are fairies that live at the bottom of the  nursery ? Well they do and they visit us.

Some of the fairies can be very mischievous: they hide our numbers and letters all around the class room and we have to go on special missions to find them and put them back in order.  They also put special fairy dust in our milks which make us super strong and smart: they don’t make it easy though, it is at the bottom of the carton and you can only get to it if you drink it all.  The fairies are also super kind they leave us different presents such as fairy biscuits and chocolate wands. We have even been super busy making our own fairies.

Most of the time the fairies are really shy, we hardly ever see them, only their foot prints and sparkle dust leading up and around the classroom are signs that we know they have been.

Over the past couple of weeks the fairies have been getting very confident. They have been leaving us

special notes with different challenges on which we must complete in speedy time. We have been drying fairy dresses, making fairy wands and fairy houses out of biodegradable materials, and practicing our special fairy rhymes. Unfortunately we received a letter this morning saying that the fairies had to dash off in the middle of the night (they left the fairy garden in such a mess) this was because a special person ( Father Christmas ) needs some help, disaster has struck the north pole!!!

They have left us a magic post box so they can keep in touch, we are ready if they need any help getting ready for Christmas......…… wonder what special Christmas challenges our fairies have in store for us over the festive period…………………………..
