Primary and secondary schools

On Sunday 9 July, Sheffield Children’s NHS is inviting every person in Sheffield under 14 years to a special junior parkrun.

We’re celebrating the NHS’ 75th birthday all week, and you can join in by walking, running, rolling in your wheelchair or walker or even skipping the 2km course.

Come to Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, Graves Park or Hillsborough Park at 8.50am to be part of it.

If you can, wear a blue top to join the ‘big blue wave’ of park runners. Junior parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Every family is welcome to come along.

Find out more and register at www.parkrun.org.uk

We need your help!

Since the beginning of the school year, we have had several children In KS1 and EYFS needing extra clothes to change into during the school day because of accidents or food/drink spills. Because of this, we are running out of clothes to give out when children need them.  If your child has an accident or spill, we then ask that you please clean the clothes and return to school in case they are needed again. If you have any spare pants, tights or socks that we could use to replenish our stocks that would be great. Thankyou!

Year 5 Visit to Sheffield Cathedral

Year 5 had a fantastic visit to Sheffield Cathedral this week. The children were guided around with a particular focus on the Cathedral's historical significance and the role it has played within Christianity. There were so many interesting facts and amazing artefacts.

Did you know that

  1. Sheffield Cathedral is the oldest building in Sheffield still in daily use?
  2. It was originally built as a Catholic Church?

Another big shout out - this time to Ethan and Oliver in Year 4

Both Ethan and Oliver have been offered a further 12 month contract with Sheffield Wednesday for the under 10's team. This is a huge achievement given that there are only 12 boys in the squad and for both boys to have been selected

 Well done boys!

It was amazing to see so many dads, uncles and grandads arrive at school on Wednesday for Year 1's special Father's Day treat. It was a lovely opportunity to thank them for all they do throughout the year

Virtues to Live By

Our Virtue to Live By this week is Honesty

I tell the truth.

I am reliable and trustworthy.

My actions match my words.

I am honest with myself and others, even when it is difficult.

Honesty – is telling the truth. It is speaking the truth without exaggerating or omitting things. It is having the courage to admit the truth even when it is hard to do. When you are honest, you can be trusted. When you are trustworthy, you can be relied on to do something and to keep the promises you have made. You have integrity, when you are honest to others and to yourself; you do not try to be like someone you are not, you are your true self. When you are honest, your actions match your words: you practise what you preach.

Let us pray to our heavenly Father.

We ask Him to guide world leaders to lead with honesty and truth.

Lord hear us

We ask Him to help us to be guided by honesty;

Lord hear us.

Help us to speak well of others and to be honest with ourselves.

Lord hear us.
