Trinity Sunday

On Sunday we celebrated one of the mysteries of our faith:
The Holy Trinity.

God is three persons in one – God the Father, God the Son and God
the Holy Spirit.
The Sign of the Cross is a profession of our faith.
God, in each person of the Holy Trinity, loves us very much, and sets a
loving example for us to follow.

St Joseph's Learning Behaviours

This week our focus learning behaviour is Resourceful Thinker

A Resourceful Thinker thinks creatively

They explore ideas and make connections

Resourceful people are full of resources or tools for coming up with solutions. Resourceful people adapt to novel or challenging situations, and they are often able to think creatively.

Parents and carers are invited to join us for a Coffee Morning on

Thursday 29th June at 9-10am

in the School Hall.  Following the positive feedback from the last two Coffee Mornings, Jacqui Wright will be leading a session on 'Sleep’.

If you are interested in coming along, please confirm your attendance by emailing Hannah Fern send@st-josephs.sheffield.sch.uk or by contacting the school office.

Jewellery

Rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings are a hazard in school.

The wearing of earrings is discouraged in school. If parents opt for their child to wear earrings they must be small plain gold/silver studs only; hoops and large or dangly earrings are not permitted. Only one pair of small studs is allowed to be worn in school.

Children may also wear a watch. Watches should not be smart watches and not linked to mobile phones

A big shout out to Evie in Year 4 who has read 106 books since the beginning of February this year

She read100 books in 109 days.

This is an amazing achievement

Is this a new St Joseph's school record?

Let your class teacher know if you think you have read more books in 100 days

Lost property

We are finding many items of uniform unnamed, lying around school at the end of each day. We make every effort to find the owners of items but are unable to store lost clothing for long periods of time as they are a fire risk and safety hazard.

In order to minimise lost property we highly recommend that all items of your child’s belongings are clearly marked with your child’s name. We do have a lost property box and items that have been found are placed in the box. Any unclaimed items are then taken to charity shops for recycling or donated to clothing banks.

We wanted to raise awareness of an app named Gemsouls which has been brought to our attention as a potential risk to young people.  The app allows people to meet others through creating virtual characters and befriending other users. We are aware that there is a risk to young people as others may pose as someone else and try to arrange meetings with young people in person. The app says it is for age 13+ however there doesn’t appear to be a robust age verification process. You can find more information on the app at https://www.mygemsouls.com/

Please be alert to any young people who may be using this app and use opportunities to remind young people not to give out personal details or pictures to people they don’t know or move away from apps to other more private online spaces.  There are several websites which have more information about online safety please follow the links

Virtues to Live By

Our Virtue to Live By this week is Honesty

I tell the truth.

I am reliable and trustworthy.

My actions match my words.

I am honest with myself and others even when it is difficult.

Christians believe that they should be totally honest in all that they do because God is honest. Dishonesty usually leads to more lies, hurt and causes injustice. For every lie you tell you need another to cover up. It is better to tell the truth in the first place.

June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart

Dear Sacred Heart of Jesus,

I love You so much and I give You my heart.

Help me to love God.

Help me to love my neighbour as a child of God.

Help me to love myself as a child of God.

AMEN
