Friday 10th February 2023

We hope that you all have a wonderful half-term holiday and enjoy spending time with your family and friends.

We look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday the 21st of February.

World Book Day is on Thursday 2nd March.  On this day and throughout the week, we will be running various activities.  On Thursday 2nd March we are inviting all children to dress up as a BOOK character (not a film character); it could be as elaborate as you like, or as simple as wearing your pyjamas.  There will be prizes for the most creative and uniquely considered costumes.

When we return from the half-term holiday, we shall all begin our Lenten

Journey.

The KS2 children, shall be joining the Parish for Mass on Ash Wednesday (22nd February) at 10am. Our FS and KS1 children, shall take part in a liturgy in school.

We shall be taking part in Adoration, Stations of The Cross, Holy Week Liturgies and our Passion Play. KS2 shall be joining forces to present this year's passion play, "Born For This." This shall take place on Wednesday the 5th of April at 1:30pm in Church. All parents are invited to join us for this event.

We shall be raising money this year for CAFOD and shall be taking part in "The Big Lent Walk," Mr Findler will be in touch after the half-term, with more information on this.

This year we shall be sending home our "Easter Mystery Bags." We would love to see your child drawings /photos of what the experience meant to them

Fairtrade Fortnight 2023 is taking place 27 February – 12 March 2023.

This Fairtrade Fortnight, join us in spreading a simple message: making the small switch to Fairtrade supports producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know coffee, bananas and chocolate could soon be much more difficult to find on our shelves?

Climate change is making crops like these harder and harder to grow. Combined with deeply unfair trade, communities growing these crops are being pushed to the brink.

But here’s the good news.

More of us choosing Fairtrade means extra income, power, and support for those communities.

By making the small switch to Fairtrade, we can all support producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.

This week, we continued to think about the virtue of "Simplicity."

I know what really matters in life.

I can give time to think of others, do good and care for creation.

Living Simply helps me to put more trust in God.

We thought about one thing we could do without in our lives.

We discussed how we could place our trust in God. We decided we could try really hard to pray to God first thing in the morning and ask that God be with us throughout the day, then thank Him at nighttime.

Help us God of wonder.

to reverence the mystery of life all around us

and come to know the interconnectedness of all things.

My we live life to the full and develop body, mind and spirit so that we

may be more aware of the sacred presence of the Spirit moving through all creation.

Amen
