Friday 03/02/23

Yesterday, was the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord: Almighty ever-living God, we humbly implore your majesty that, just as your Only Begotten Son was presented on this day in the Temple in the substance of our flesh, so, by your grace, we may be presented to you with minds made pure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Y5 had an amazing time listening to Dennis Ashton! They were mesmerised by looking at Mars using 3D glasses

Next Tuesday (7 February) is Safer Internet Day: the annual event to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital tech amongst children and young people. This year’s title is ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’ – giving young voices a platform to shape the kinds of online safety support that they receive.

Simply checking in with children regularly about their experiences – both good and bad – in the digital world is a brilliant way to engage with what they’re currently into online, while also acting as a valuable early warning system about potential issues. To support Safer Internet Day, this week’s #WakeUpWednesday guide has some top tips for initiating these helpful catch-up chats.

This week, we consider the virtue of simplicity. We reflect on the following :

"I know what really matters in life. I can give time to think of others, do good and care for creation. Living simply helps me put more trust in God."

  • How can I live more simply, so I am happy with what I need - no more, no less?
  • Am I thankful for what I have ?
  • Do I always share things with those in need ?
