Friday 16th December 2022

Dear parents,

We know that there are a lot of financial pressures on all families at the moment and our staff are not expecting a “Thank You” gift for doing their jobs. Kind words and homemade cards, do really mean such a lot to all staff though.

We would like to thank you all for your support this year and wish you and your loved ones a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Thank you so much to the wonderful Friends of St Josephs ! They have been really busy this term, raising money for our school and making sure that the children have lots of fun at the same time. The "Breakfast with Santa," and disco were both real successes !

This week Evie (Y5) did some absolutely brilliant work . We are sure that you will be impressed !

Our pupils welfare is very important to us, and we believe that regular attendance throughout the year is essential for their success and fulfilment.

Please see the school website for further details in terms of how the school deals with attendance.

On Thursday the 22nd of December, the last day of term we shall all be paying our final respects to Mr Barnsley. As we said in the last newsletter, our older children will be standing outside of school as the funeral car passes by. This day shall be an own clothes' day - children to dress as brightly as possible - SUFC kits may be worn !

The funeral cars shall be passing by school at approx 11:05am. If any parents would like to join us in paying our final respects, then you are very welcome to.

Sheffield Childrens Hospital Snowflake Appeal

A huge thank you to everyone as we have reached our £600 target for the snowflake appeal, actually raising £626.29. Thank you so much for your generosity !

"Imagine you walked onto a large open field at night when there was no moon. Standing there silently in the darkness were hundreds of people, each holding an unlit candle.

Only you were carrying a candle that was burning, a single light alone. How quickly would the field be glowing once you used your candle to light others, and they used their candles to do the same, and all the people began sharing their light with those around them.

You may never know exactly, but you do know over time what the outcome will be: a field aglow in the darkness where people can see one another clearly. Your life matters.

What you have started will carry on. You are a source of light. You help others in ways that will continue. You are a single candle, but you are stronger than darkness."
