Open Day

19th November 9:30am - 12pm

Tomorrow new parents and pupils applying for school places in September 2023 are welcome to drop in and see our wonderful school and meet some of our fantastic prefects , House Captains and Staff .

We really do love it when we receive positive feedback, both from our families and the children themselves.

This week we were extremely proud of our wonderful Y5 children who visited the Diamond Lab in Sheffield. They had a soggy start and travelled to the lab, via public transport. This did not dampen their spirits in any way ! They were polite, articulate, curious and engaged. Absolute assets to our school !

This was the lovely feedback that we received...

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to pass on my observation of what a well behavioured and friendly group of year 5 students that attended the class trip to the Diamond today.

They were a fantastic representation of your school, and it was a lovely to see them all enjoying themselves

Many thanks

A huge thank you to Traffic Services, who were outside school again this morning. We are sure that you agree they have been doing a fantastic job and really are helping to make our environment a much safer one.

We look forward to seeing them again very soon.

Spotlight on Year 3 and Year 4

This week Y3 and Y4 have really been busy.

Y4 had an incredible time in York, visiting The Dig and the Yorvik Centre

It was fantastic to see the all the Y3's working as a team on our new Active Walls in PE.

Virtue to live by: I trust that God’s love has no end and that He is at work in my life and in the world.

Word:

Luke 18:35-43 Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar

As Jesus was coming near Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the road, begging. When he heard the crowd passing by, he asked, “What is this?” “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” they told him. He cried out, “Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!” The people in front scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David! Have mercy on me!” So Jesus stopped and ordered the blind man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Sir,” he answered, “I want to see again.” Jesus said to him, “Then see! Your faith has made you well.” At once, he was able to see, and he followed Jesus, giving thanks to God. When the crowd saw it, they all praised God.

Response to / Reflection on the Word:

During the reading, the blind man had hope in Jesus, he was confident that Jesus could and would heal him. Despite people telling him not to shout out, the Blind man had faith. Even though he couldn’t see Jesus, he had faith – we cannot see Him either, but we have faith and hope in Jesus.

Are there times when we find life difficult, when we find it hard to see?

What gives us hope?

Heavenly Father, help us to have hope,

Trust that You will always be with us,

Especially when we feel that we are in darkness.

Shine a light to guide our path.

Amen.
