Friday 7th October 2022

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

Today all the children who had walked to school last month, were presented with their WOW badge. The class who had walked most days were Y5.

Eat Smart Sheffield are really pleased to share their new and improved Feed Your Family For Less booklet!

St Bernadette Relic Tour 2022

In September and October this year, the relics of St Bernadette have journeyed on pilgrimage to England, Scotland, and Wales for the very first time.

This very special once in a lifetime event will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes, in a church or cathedral near them.

This week our Y6 class and Liturgy Leaders went along to St Maries Cathedral to be part of this special pilgrimage.

The children said it was an amazing experience and were really glad they were taken.

We were so proud of all of them, other people who were on the pilgrimage commented on how well-behaved and sensible they all were.

St Francis of Assisi

This year every class in school has chosen a saint, to be their special saint for the year. The children have researched their saint and produced lots of lovely work based on them.

Today, Y4 presented the first assembly all about their saint, St Francis of Assisi.

Prayer to St Francis

O God by whose gift St Francis,

was conformed to Christ

In poverty and humilty

Grant that by walking in Francis footsteps

We may follow your son Jesus Christ

Amen
