Thank you for all of your support, not only during this week but throughout the year. It has been another year which has presented a number of challenges, but by working together I feel that we have overcome them.

I am extremely proud of the progress that the children have made this year, and I am sure that they are all ready to move on to their next year groups.

Some of our children shall be leaving us today, and we wish them every success and happiness as they continue their schooling journey onto secondary school and other schools.

We wish all our families a fantastic summer, and we look forward to seeing you back in school in September.

On Wednesday evening, he held our first ever prom in the school hall, for our very special Y6's. We are sure you will agree they all looked very glamorous and so grown up too !

Here are some fun activities that children can do at home over the summer - they’re fun, educational and active 😃

Goodbye and good luck to all of  the children who are leaving to carry on their school journeys.

Also, we send our very best wishes to Mr Holland and Mrs Stebbing.

Prayers for the children

    Loving God,

We pray for all children as they prepare for a new season in their lives.

As they start nursery or school for the first time – give them joy in new experiences

As they move to new classes – give them confidence in growing friendships

As they move to new schools – give them strength in their growing independence

And for all the teachers, assistants, helpers, carers and volunteers who teach and nurture our children and young people,

We ask for your blessing, your joy, your wisdom and your patience

As they re-charge their batteries over the summer break, ready for the new term! We ask this in the name of Jesus.

Amen

At St Josephs, we feel that we have a role to play, in promoting healthy lifestyle habits to our children.

With this in mind, we are adopting a “Water Only Policy.” By adopting this “Water Only Policy,” we shall aim to decrease the amount of sugar, artificial sweeteners and other additives which children are consuming, whilst increasing their hydration.  Research shows that consumption of drinks which contain sugar, sweeteners and fizzy drinks have all been linked to an increase in childhood obesity and tooth decay.

A water only school is one where the only drink available to students is water (and milk for those eligible). We shall ensure that children are not bringing sugary drinks onto the school premises, including for after school or with their lunch.

At St Josephs, we actively encourage our children to drink water.

  • throughout the school day
  • as part of a Hot School Meal
  • as part of a Packed Lunch

Please see the school website for more details and the school policy.

Today Y6 performed their version of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. They were absolutely incredible ! We are so proud of every single one of them, and we know that they are all so ready to move onto their secondary schools.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our wonderful Art Show yesterday.

We look forward to seeing the children back in school on

Monday the 5th of September - at the new time of 8:45am.
