UK heat wave – NHS top 10 tips to stay safe as 'deadly African plume' makes temperatures feel like 44C

Red Weather Warning - Extreme Heat

On Monday the 18th and Tuesday the 19th the following shall be in place:

  • We do not expect the children to wear uniform, instead they should wear “loose fitting light coloured clothing.”
  •  All children MUST wear a sunhat. If they do not, then they shall not be allowed outside.
  •  Children MUST apply sun cream before arriving at school. (Please make sure that your child has cream with them in a bag and can apply this themselves, should they need to during the day.)
  •  When outside, children will be kept under the many shaded areas around the school field.
  • We shall reduce the lunch hour, so that children are brought inside earlier.
  •  Children MUST bring a filled bottle of water into school. These shall be refilled throughout the day.
  •  There shall be a water supply available to the children outside as well as inside.
  •  There shall be no P E sessions during this time.

We may have to alter our arrangements for the Y6 performance of the Tempest. We shall update you all in this regard on Monday.
If the situation changes in terms of the above, then we shall of course be in contact with you all straight away.

End of year reports

On Monday, you shall receive your child's end of year report. We are incredibly proud of all the progress that the children have made this year.

As you shall see the report gives attainment and effort for all subjects. It also identifies targets for their next year. Meetings have taken place between your child's current teacher and staff for the next academic year to ensure that a smooth transition takes place in September.

Please read through your child’s report and contact us if you have any questions.

We would appreciate comments from yourselves after reading the report. Please forward your comment back to your class teacher. Should you need to speak to your teacher after reading the report, then please make contact directly via email and teachers will then arrange a time to call you when they are in school.

With thanks as always for your continued support,

School Uniform

Here is a reminder of our school uniform. School badges, ties and book bags may all be purchased from school.

The rest of the uniform, can be purchased from a number of suppliers, clothing stores such as Next and Mand S and a variety of supermarkets, such as Asda and Tesco.

It is that time of year, when stockists are offering certain "deals," in terms of school uniform.

These are the ones we have noticed so far...will keep you updated if we find any more ...

  • M & S - 20 % OFF SELECTED UNIFORM
  • TU at Sainsburys, have a number of deals.
  • George at Asda are offering some fantastic deals too.

Whole School Mass - Friday the 22nd of July at 2pm

Next Friday at 2pm , we shall be ending our school year with a Whole School Mass.

This will be a special opportunity to wish our wonderful Y6 children well, before they leave us for the next stage of their educational journeys.

Please note dogs are not allowed on the school playground at all - wether on a lead or carried. Many of our children are afraid of them and parents have expressed concerns.

Below again is some useful information to consider.

The Dog Safety Code encourages everyone to be alert, aware and – most importantly – safe around dogs. We are a nation of dog lovers and dogs are often part of the family, so it is vital that both parents and children are equipped with the knowledge they need to enjoy spending time with dogs safely.
