Parents’ Evenings | Aylesford School, Kent

We look forward to welcoming you to our first Parents’ Evening of the school year. It is an opportunity to hear how your child has settled into their new class, talk about their learning and discuss how you can support them at home.
Appointments will take place on:
 Thursday 15 October, 3:30–6:00 pm
 Tuesday 20 October, 3:30–6:00 pm
Your child’s class teacher will send you an appointment time through ClassDojo. If you cannot attend at that time, please message the teacher on ClassDojo or contact the school office so we can arrange an alternative.
Appointments are 10 minutes long, so please arrive on time. If you need a longer
conversation, your child’s teacher will be happy to arrange a separate meeting.
If your child has a termly SEN review, you will receive a separate invitation to that meeting rather than a Parents’ Evening appointment.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Recognising, rewarding and celebrating the active faith and service of young people | CYMFed Faith in Action Award

🌟 Year 6 Begin Their Faith in Action Journey

This year, our wonderful Year 6 class are embarking on the Faith in Action Award. This is really exciting for St Joseph’s as it is the first time we have taken part in the programme, which children would more ordinarily begin at secondary school.

Led by their teacher, Mrs Rae, Year 6 already have lots of exciting plans for the year ahead, putting their faith into action by thinking about how they can serve others and make a positive difference.

They have certainly got off to a fantastic start! Their first fundraising activity was a doughnut sale to support the lovely Sisters of the Renewal, raising an incredible £101!

We are really looking forward to seeing where their Faith in Action journey takes them this year and sharing more of their work with you. Well done, Year 6! 💚🙏

A Special Visit

This term, we were delighted to welcome the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal to St Joseph’s. Sister Chiara and Sister Cecilia spent the day visiting our classrooms and sharing lunch with the children and staff. They brought such joy and happiness to our school, and we feel truly blessed to have their friendship, prayers and support.

October – The Month of the Holy Rosary

October: Month of the Holy Rosary | RVA

October is a very special month in the Catholic Church as we celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary. Throughout the month, we will be helping our children to learn more about the Rosary and encouraging them to spend time in prayer with Mary, bringing us closer to Jesus.

This year, as a whole school, we are taking part in the Mark 10 Mission Rosary Challenge. Each day during October, our Liturgy Leaders will lead children in praying part of the Rosary together, with different groups gathering to pray 10 Hail Marys each day.

By the end of October, our children will have shared in a wonderful month of prayer across our school community.

We hope that families might also take a little time during October to pray the Hail Mary or a decade of the Rosary together at home. 💙🙏
