It is vital that I hear from children and young people in every school, college and community across England. If students from your school do not participate, their experiences, views and aspirations will be absent from the national picture that will help shape future policy and decision-making.

At a time of significant change for children and young people, it is more important than ever that their voices are heard. Through The Big Future, I can take the views of your students directly to government and ensure their priorities help inform the decisions that affect their lives.

PTA Summer Fair – A Wonderful Community Celebration

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who helped make this year's PTA Summer Fair such a fantastic success. For many weeks, and especially over the final weekend, so many people gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to ensure the event was one to remember. Your hard work certainly paid off.

This year's Summer Fair was made even more special as it formed part of our 150th anniversary celebrations. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community to celebrate not only another successful school year, but also the rich history and traditions of St Joseph's. Sharing this milestone with past and present families made the occasion even more memorable.

It was wonderful to see our school grounds filled with laughter, smiles and families enjoying time together. The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was fantastic and a perfect reflection of the strong sense of community that has been at the heart of St Joseph's for 150 years.

A huge thank-you goes to our amazing PTA, our dedicated volunteers, staff, governors and everyone who contributed in any way. Your commitment and generosity never go unnoticed, and the opportunities you help provide for our children make a real difference to school life.

Thank you also to all of our parents, carers, families and friends who came along to support the event. Whether you donated prizes, volunteered your time, attended on the day or supported us behind the scenes, you all played an important part in making the Summer Fair such a success.

Thank you once again for making the day so memorable. It was a fantastic celebration of our wonderful school community and a truly fitting way to mark 150 years of St Joseph's. Here's to the next chapter in our school's history!

On Friday,  they represented our school with respect, talent and outstanding sportsmanship. Competing against schools from across the Catholic community, both teams finished an impressive 4th place overall.

Wow, wow, wow! On Wednesday, we were well and truly blown away by our Year 6 children. They treated us to a spectacular performance of Shrek the Musical, and it was truly outstanding.

The singing, the dancing, the incredible acting, the costumes, the set, the lighting and the music – every single element was exceptional and left us lost for words!

These young people are true superstars, and we know they will go far. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

A huge thank you to Mr White and Mrs Shepherd for inspiring these young people and for all the hard work, dedication and passion they have invested in bringing this amazing production to life. It was a performance we will never forget!

 

 

Staff Leavers

As you know, we shall be saying goodbye to a number of members of staff at the end of this term.

Mr White will be leaving us to join a school a little closer to home. We would like to thank him for everything he has done for our current Year 6 children during the two years he has been with us. We wish him every success and happiness in his new role.

Mrs Roe, who has been supporting in Year 4 for two days each week, will also be leaving us. Mrs Roe has been part of the St Joseph's family for over 20 years. During that time, she has supported hundreds of children, particularly with their SATs preparation, ensuring they were confident and well-prepared for the next stage of their education and transition to secondary school. She will be greatly missed, and school simply won't feel the same without her. Mrs Roe is now looking forward to a very well-earned retirement, and we wish her many happy years ahead.

Mrs Marshall, who has supported our Reception class for one and a half days each week, will also be leaving us at the end of this term. Throughout her time at St Joseph's, she has helped so many of our youngest children develop the fundamental skills they need to thrive as they move into Key Stage 1. Mrs Marshall will also be retiring, and we thank her for her dedication and care over the years.

On behalf of everyone at St Joseph's, we would like to thank Mr White, Mrs Roe and Mrs Marshall for their commitment, hard work and the positive difference they have made to the lives of so many children. We wish them all the very best for the future.

HAS Spring Art Show - Mar 12, 2024

This year's Art Exhibition was, once again, absolutely incredible! Every year, the quality of the children's artwork seems to go from strength to strength, and this year's exhibition was no exception.

It was wonderful to see such a wide range of creative and imaginative pieces on display. Alongside the children's artistic talents, many of the exhibits also showcased excellent creativity, problem-solving and maker skills, demonstrating their ability to design, create and think innovatively.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition and supported our young artists. We hope you were as impressed and inspired by this year's incredible display as we were. Our children should be extremely proud of their achievements, and we thank our staff for encouraging and nurturing such outstanding creativity.
