We have been back at school for just two weeks this half-term, yet we have already achieved such a great deal. We have visited the LifeWise Centre for Crucial Crew and enjoyed making delicious pizzas at PizzaExpress. Our Year 6 children have shown great resilience during their week of Bikeability. This is a very disciplined course that teaches children how to stay safe on the roads when using their bikes, and all the children who completed the course received a certificate.

Our KS1 children have worked extremely hard in their Phonics Screening Check, and our Year 4 pupils have applied themselves brilliantly during their Multiplication Tables Check.

With so many wonderful achievements already this half-term, we are looking forward to the many exciting opportunities and experiences still to come before the end of term.

St Joseph's Altar Servers

These young people serve every week at the altar at St Joseph's Church. They are absolutely incredible, carrying out this important role with genuine commitment, respect, and dedication. We are extremely proud of each one of them.

Last week, Year 6 took part in Crucial Crew at the LifeWise Centre. They learnt lots of useful information and practical skills to help prepare them for the move to high school. The children took part in a range of activities, including learning how to use public transport safely, how to behave sensibly when out and about, and how to keep themselves safe in different situations. They even had the chance to take part in a mock court, where they found out more about the consequences of their actions. Everyone had a great time and came away with lots of important knowledge for the future.

This week, our wonderful Year 5 children visited Pizza Express in the town centre to try their hand at making delicious Italian pizzas. Needless to say, the children were extremely well-behaved and received many compliments during their visit. It was a fantastic experience, and they thoroughly enjoyed creating and tasting their own pizzas.

We know that our children are superstars and never stop impressing us while they are in school. We also know that when they leave at the end of the school day, they continue to achieve amazing things beyond the classroom.

We love it when you share what they have been up to and how they are living our school motto:
β€œWe Live, We Love, We Learn, We Share.”

A footballing superstar, Jasiah in Y5, has been selected to represent her club, YP Academy U10/U11 Girls, in Belgium! βš½πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ

We are so proud of this incredible achievement and know she will do an amazing job. Your hard work, dedication, and talent are shining through for everyone to see.

Good luck, Jasiah – enjoy every moment, play with confidence, and make some unforgettable memories. We are all cheering you on! πŸŒŸπŸ‘

Very proud of you, Jasiah! ⚽

Last week, Penny, Aubrey and Paisley took part in the  Corpus Christi Procession in Sheffield city centre. The new First Holy Communicants from across the city had the honour of leading the procession. Beginning and ending at St Marie's Cathedral, the procession made its way through the city, stopping at four altars along the route. The event lasted over two hours, and our girls did an amazing job. They looked absolutely beautiful in their special dresses, making it a truly memorable and meaningful occasion for all involved.

KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE ONLINE
Advice for Parents and Carers

Top Tips for Supporting Your Child Online

πŸ›‘οΈ Talk regularly about online activities
Ask your child what games they play, who they talk to, and which websites or apps they enjoy using.

πŸ”’ Use privacy and parental controls
Check the safety settings on devices, apps, games and streaming services to help create a safer online experience.

πŸ‘₯ Remind children not to share personal information
Teach them never to give out their full name, address, school name, passwords or photographs without permission.

⏰ Set healthy screen-time routines
Agree on family rules for when and where devices can be used, including time away from screens.

πŸ’¬ Encourage children to speak up
If something online worries, upsets or confuses them, reassure them that they can always talk to a trusted adult.

🚫 Know how to block and report
Show your child how to block users and report inappropriate content or behaviour on the platforms they use.

Remember:

The internet is a wonderful place to learn, play and connect – but children need guidance to use it safely and responsibly.

If you have any concerns about your child's online safety, please contact the school for support and advice.
