24th October 2025

This half term has been an exciting and very busy one. We began the new academic year with a beautiful Celebration and Mass of Thanksgiving for our 150th anniversary, which was a truly special and memorable occasion. We were delighted that Bishop Ralph was able to join us and lead the Mass, and it was wonderful to welcome so many former staff and pupils back to share the day with us.

I was incredibly proud of everyone in school. The children sang and responded beautifully, and their behaviour throughout the Mass was impeccable – such a credit to us and to their families. It was also very special to welcome visitors into school and hear their treasured memories of what our amazing school was like many years ago.

With such a fantastic start to the year, there has been lots more happening across school over the weeks that followed. We’re delighted to share just a few of our half-term highlights with you…

Year Six have absolutely loved their sessions with Cookie from the Rotherham Titans! As well as learning some fantastic rugby skills, the children have also developed important life skills such as healthy eating, wellbeing, teamwork and communication.

We are incredibly grateful for this experience and would like to say a big thank you to the Titans for supporting our school and inspiring our pupils.

This half term, we have offered an incredible range of after-school clubs – including Robotics, multi-sports and girls’ football, Musical Theatre, Choir and Recorder Club, and Language and Culture Club. These sessions provide amazing opportunities for our children, allowing them to develop new skills and talents outside of the classroom. As always, a huge thank you to our very talented staff who run these clubs and make such a real difference to the experiences we offer our children.

Looking ahead to next half term, we’re excited to introduce a few new additions, including a Craft Club and a Boys’ Football Club – we can’t wait to see the children enjoying these!

Thank you to everyone for your generosity in supporting the development of our new Spiritual Garden. We are so grateful for the kindness and contributions we have received so far.

The next phase of the project will be to add some sleeper benches and fencing so that the space can really begin to take shape. If anyone is able to help in any way—whether by donating resources, materials, or time—we would be delighted to hear from you.

Thank you once again for your continued support. We are excited to see this special space grow for our children and school community.

A huge thank you to those of you who have already gifted the school an item from our Amazon Wishlist. As you may remember, this was kindly set up by a parishioner in celebration of our 150th anniversary. There are 150 different items on the list, and every single one will help to support and enhance the children’s learning and experiences in school. We are so grateful for your continued kindness and generosity. If you would still like to take part, the wishlist remains open and any contribution, big or small, is truly appreciated.
