Our Lady of the Rosary

October is the month of the Rosary, and the children have been reminded of the importance of praying the Rosary together at school  and at home. Our Liturgy Leaders are taking a special role this month by leading the Rosary each week in school.

The children have also been writing their own prayers, asking Our Lady to pray with them for their special intentions. This has been a lovely way for them to reflect on the power of prayer and to share what is in their hearts.

We keep all of our children and families in prayer during this special month of devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary.

A huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Jenkinson for kindly gifting the school enough Rosary Beads for every child. We’ll make sure these are put to good use over the coming weeks.

Trips and Fun!

It’s been a week full of exciting activities at St Joseph’s! Our Year 3 children had a brilliant time at the Moorlands Centre, while Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Eden Bank and also had another fantastic session with Cookie from Rotherham Titans.

As always, there’s been plenty of outdoor learning fun too, with the children exploring, discovering, and enjoying being active in the fresh air.

Kick-off caution!

EA FC 26 brings back all the footballing fun but with potential online safety concerns around voice chat, in-game purchases and scams, this guide gives trusted adults the full picture.

A colorful poster featuring an animated character with a determined expression, wearing a jersey with the number 26, holding a game controller. The background includes football imagery and text boxes with headings like "What Are EA Sports FC 26," "Scams in Ultimate Team," and "Advice for Parents & Educators." Additional text includes "Wake Up Wednesday" and logos for The National College and PEGI 3.

Our Harvest Festival is just around the corner – a wonderful time to give thanks and support those in our community who may need a little extra help. This year, we are once again collecting for Handsworth Food Bank, who support local families.

If you’re able, we would be very grateful for donations of items such as:

  • Tins (soup, vegetables, meat, fish, fruit)

  • Custard, sauces, tea, coffee, hot chocolate

  • Packets of rice, pasta, or noodles

Children can bring donations into school any day between now and the festival. If it’s easier, donations can also be made online via School Gateway.

Our Harvest Festival service will take place in church on Tuesday 7th October at 2pm, and families are warmly invited to join us.

Thank you for your generosity – your support really does make a difference!
