Friday 26th April 2024

Our Ofsted Inspection took place on 6th and 7th March 2024 and we are really pleased to have been judged GOOD in all areas. Here are some of the key findings:

St Joseph’s Primary School is a warm and welcoming school.

Pupils are polite and courteous. They speak to adults with maturity and curiosity.

The Catholic ethos is evident throughout the school.

The curriculum for children in early years is equally ambitious.

Provision for pupils with SEND is a strength of the school.

First Holy Communion

Our Parish Catechist, Mrs George, has been helping to prepare some of our Year 3 children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. This is a major part in the life of a Catholic. Please remember the children and their families as they take this next step on their journey of faith.

This week has been 'Kindness Week' and we have been spreading kindness throughout the school. Each day, the children have been tasked with doing a specific kind activity and writing about how they felt when they did it. Not only were they helping other people, they were also helping themselves…because when we’re kind it improves our own physical and mental health. Kindness Bingo was just one activity that the children have enjoyed. They had a card full of small kind acts which they coloured in every time they managed to complete one.

On Tuesday this week, the NSPCC were in school all day.  They are using St Joseph's for their fundraising and marketing campaign and were taking photos, videos and working with the children throughout the day.  This was a great experience for St Joseph's.

This is important not just for your child’s learning, but also for their overall wellbeing, wider development and their mental health.

Weekly Attendance - week beginning 22nd April 2024

Our whole school attendance target for this academic year (23/24) is 96.5%

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Shopping Platforms

Long gone are the days where eBay and Amazon were the only means of buying quality items online. The rise of user-friendly, accessible shopping apps has meant that getting clothes, gadgets and other goodies delivered direct to your door can be accomplished with a few touches of your phone’s screen while you’re on the go.

These apps aren’t without their issues, however, and users still run the risk of scams, data breaches and other online safety concerns. Being aware of these dangers will go a long way to keeping your money and information safe, so you can still enjoy what these shopping apps have to offer. The guide below has some top tips to help protect young people on these purchasing platforms.
