Liturgy Leaders

Say hello to our new Liturgy Leaders

Our liturgy leaders play a hugely important role in the Catholic life and collective worship in the school.

Some key responsibilities include:

Organising and leading class liturgies and prayer services

Helping to plan, prepare and lead school Mass

Maintaining class prayer corners & displays

Supporting the Headteacher with school assemblies and special events

Creating displays/choosing appropriate religious artefacts for the main school altar and prayer gardens

Supporting charities and raising funds in our parish and local community

Encouraging, enthusing and supporting their peers in their journey of faith

On Tuesday 26th September we celebrated the European Day of Languages with an assembly led by our Language Ambassadors.

Our Language Ambassadors promote the school’s positive ethos in language learning.

Congratulations to our new language ambassadors for this year. These children have been chosen to represent our school as great role models, promoting the importance of language and the diverse world we live in.

This week we had our first Maker Spirit awards for children who demonstrated Resilience in their learning.

Resilience requires a sense of adaptability and confidence to overcome challenges, and requires children to have the ability to recover quickly from tough challenges, in order to succeed. A resilient leaner is flexible but persistent.

Congratulations to Frankie, Emily, Eliza, Brea, Jonah and Ralphie who were awarded certificates for being resilient this week.

Our House Captains Sophie and David then introduced next weeks Maker Spirit -

Being Collaborative

We will be looking for children who can make independent progress while being part of a team. Children that learn to take responsibility for their part and recognise the different skills that members of their team have and use this to their advantage. Children who share, communicate, support and lead.

On Tuesday 10th October we shall be celebrating our Harvest Festival. This shall take place in church at 2pm. Each year group from Early Years to Year 6 will share a song, poem or drama. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate together.

We will also be taking donations of food, to the local food bank at Grace Church, in Handsworth. We would really appreciate any donations of dried food (tins or packets) that you can make.  All items should be unopened, in date and in good condition.  If you would like to contribute, please send any donations into school with your child before half term.

Do we have any boys who love to sing?

Parents can now explore chorister opportunities at Westminster Cathedral Choir School over Zoom

Every year up to six boys join Westminster Cathedral Choir School as choristers in Years 4 or 5. Becoming a chorister offers boys the opportunity to sing in a world-famous choir, and to join a top school for boys age 4 – 13, with up to 100% off fees.

Every half term, we welcome families over Zoom who would simply like to explore what it means to be a chorister. We take a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a chorister, focusing on what it means to board, and why being in a top choir is such a joyous experience.

Our Zoom sessions this term are at 6.30 pm on the following dates, each lasting 30 minutes.
