Life Cycles

This term we have already been very busy learing all about growing, changes and life cycles.

We kicked off the term by reading the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk. We decided to plant our own bean stalks and we discussed what plants need to live. On Friday we sent home our bean stalks, as they are beginning to grow, along with a bean diary to keep the class updated on how they are doing at home!

We have been looking at the frog life cycle and as Nursery have their own tadpoles, we had the opportunity to see these first hand. We will be checking on the tadpoles over the term to spot and report back any changes.

Caterpillars also arrived into Reception and last week we looked at the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. After a class vote, our caterpillars have been named Don, Gerry, Max, Grace and Bella and we are very excited to watch them grown and change into butterflies.

We will keep you posted with any updates!!
