    Year 5 Advent Assembly

    Yesterday, Year 5 did their Advent assembly for the whole school and their families. We focused on John the Baptist and his important role during the special time of Advent. The children were all fantastic, well done Year 5!

    Art in Year 5

    The children have been using water colours to create a picture of Jesus being baptised by John the Baptist and the Spirit of God descending on him like a dove.

    Police Community Support Officers visit Year 5

    On Thursday, the Police Community Support Officers from our local area came to visit Year 5 to hand out information about their job, be seen by the community and answer any questions the children had.

    Year 5 and 6 visited the Octagon in Sheffield to watch the Christmas Lecture based on Science. This year the theme was 'Everyone's a fertiliser factory'.

    Year 4 are enjoying the topic about World War 2 and getting really excited about our upcoming visit to Kelham Island on 18th December. The children are invited to dress up as an evacuee. There are lots of good ideas for costumes on the internet if you are unsure of what they might wear.

    Police Community Support Officers visit St. Joseph's

    Nursery to Year 4 all enjoyed a visit from our local PCSOs this afternoon.  We learnt about their role in the community, and some important tips on how to keep ourselves safe.  The children had some fantastic questions for the officers.

    Year 5 - Snozberries!

    Yesterday, Year 5 tried a snozberry - one of the Oompa Loompas favourite food. They described the fruit using their senses and wrote about it using similes and metaphors.
