Reception

Welcome to Reception

This term the Reception team are Mrs Boyle, Mrs Abel and Mrs Marshall.

Welcome back to a new term, this term our topic is Superheroes. We will be learning all about superheroes and focusing on how we are super! This term we are focusing on learning behaviours and becoming more confident and independent in our work. We will be listening to a range of stories and texts linked to superheroes and writing our own stories. As part of science week we will also be predicting and working on listening to instructions.

This term I have sent home some additional home learning activities for your child to complete. Your children will have the opportunity to share their home learning achievements with the class and we will ask some questions about it. Linked to our focus on learning behaviours it would be brilliant if the things we bring in to show are things we have accomplished ourselves at home rather than a toy e.g. home learning activities such as a picture of their favourite superhero, a super sentence they have written or a super fact they have learnt. I have attached a list of home learning ideas linked to our topic, but it could be anything related to our superhero topic.

This term we are also going to be continuing our busy learning activities on the carpet before the register, if you feel your child can come into the classroom unaccompanied please encourage this. I will be available in the morning if you wish to pass on any messages or have anything you wish to speak to me about. Please note that the school start time is 8:55am.

Maths with parents – This is the online homework for Reception, I have uploaded the next few sessions on the Maths with Parents Reception page (https://www.mathswithparents.com/KWeb?startTime=1575222006978).
