This week we are going to be reading the story “The Jolly Christmas Postman” by Janet and Allen Ahlberg. We will be thinking about the role of postal workers and how they help in our community. In literacy we will be focusing on writing letters and we are going to have a visit from two mischievous elves that will be setting challenges around our classroom. We have lots of opportunities to write letters at this very special time of year and as part of our literacy activities we will be writing to Father Christmas, I will be posting these as part of the Royal Mail letters to Santa.  I will be sending home a copy of the letters to parents and carers. Below is the address if you would like to send your own letters for additional family members, the closing date is Friday 7th December.

Our advent wreath was blessed on Friday by Father Mark and each day the travelling crib will be coming home with one of the children. Included in the bag is a nativity scene, candles, prayers and a record book. Please can you ensure that this is returned daily so that as many children can have a turn as possible.

Next week we have another special parent visitor coming in to talk about their role in the community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who volunteered their time to come and talk to us.
